"Dr. L" graduated from medical school in Frankfurt, Germany. He came to the United States to compare the medical systems in the United States and in Germany and decided to move to the United States permanently. He did his residency and fellowship in pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson Hospital. After completing his fellowship in 1960, he joined Dr. Max Weimann's pediatric practice in Haddon Heights, NJ. The practice grew tremendously during Dr. Schlitt's many years there. After 44 years caring for children in South Jersey, Dr. Schlitt retired from seeing patients in 2004; however, he continues to have an active administrative role. Dr. Schlitt spends much of his free time with his 15 grandchildren. Additionally, he and his wife enjoy most of their weekends at the Jersey shore.
